January Term classes are just around the corner, and we look forward to seeing you on campus soon! To welcome you to NYU your first week, we will be hosting a series of food events featuring some of the city’s favorite treats! Come to meet your academic advisors and fellow visiting students!
NEW YORK WINTER WELCOME FOOD FESTIVAL
All events take place at the Academic Resource Center, 18 Washington Place.
Monday, January 4, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Begin your first day of class with this ultimate city classic. Freshly made that morning, in a variety of flavors, and just begging for a generous smear of cream cheese.
Tuesday, January 5, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
These ain’t your typical cake doughnuts enjoyed by police officers around the country. These are breakfast treats taken to a whole new level (doughnut 2.0, if you will) by one of the city’s favorite artisanal bakeries: Doughnut Plant.
Wednesday, January 6, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The pastry made famous by The Godfather. There is a constant debate on which Italian bakery in the Big Apple makes the best cannoli. We have our favorite, and we’re generous enough to share a few with you (leaving a majority for us).
Shake Shack Custard and Burgers
Wednesday, January 6, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Considered one of the great burger joints in the city, this Danny Meyer chain features not only excellent hamburgers but also amazing frozen custard milkshakes, concretes, and sundaes. Meet at the Academic Resource Center, and we will head to Battery Park City for dinner…on us! That’s right–it’s free! Just bring a MetroCard. Visiting students must RSVP to participate. (You must be logged into your NYU email to access the RSVP form).
Black and White Cookies
Thursday, January 7, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
These half cake/half cookie wonders are as New York as you can get, inspiring even Steinfeld to marvel at their philosophical importance and, of course, the proper way to eat one.
